I’m not sure if this could be considered “privilege”, but I think it definitely needs to be pointed out.
I’ve noticed that whenever I refer to a stray animal on the street as “he”, such as “Oh, look at that dog. He’s so cute.” no one bats an eye, but if I say “Oh look at that dog, she’s so cute!” Someone will always say “HOW DO YOU KNOW IT’S A GIRL? WHY ARE YOU USING “SHE” IF YOU DON’T KNOW?”
Males get to have their gender be the default for (almost) everything until proven otherwise.
